Description

Terrance is a fluffy Eastern Dragon. His underside is scaled, but the rest of his body is furred. His head is dominantly canine in features, with a narrow snout, generally pointed face, a pair of back-turned black horns, and comparatively large pointy ears.
His pelage consists of dark brown fur along the top half, and a lighter tawny shade on his underside and belly-scales. His claws each have five digits, fore and hind.

History

Early Life

Terrance hatched from a small clutch in the soil region of the cave network, in a den carved out near a local dwarf village.
His mother taught him how to use his abilities and hunt for food, and how to interact with their society on a basic level.

Dwarven Tutelage

As Terrance became old enough, he and his siblings joined schooling with the Dwarf village, where they received a healthy and well rounded education.

Free Spirit

Once graduated from the relatively strictly regimented Dwarf school, Terrance set out to explore the rest of the cave system.
He made various friends with other varieties of dragon, as well as neighboring dwarf settlements.

Famine, Formal Hunter

By age 35, Terrance found that his local region has begun experiencing famine.
He volunteered his abilities to hep find and retrieve food for the subterranean community.
Thus forged Terrance's day to day life, rippling through the dirt zone searching for various beasts to hunt and retrurn to the cave networks by "day", and then coiling up in a cozy abode by fireside by "night" to share tales of adventure.

Arrival

Terrance was out hunting, when he noticed a disturbance in the soil that wasn't there before.
His sonar ability couldn't make out what it was, so he turned and headed that way to investigate, sending himself through a breach and into the realm of Infinitas.

Homeworld

Post-Apocalyptic High Fantasy:
This realm used to be a beautiful and thriving classic high-fantasy setting.
However, this idyllic peace was shattered by conflict.
The classic debate of "magic vs technology" had become violent. Extremely violent.
Great spells of devastation crossed fire with the most powerful weapons that could be created, scouring the surface of the entire planet.
The best bets for survival were underground, extremely high altitude, or in the depths of the sea. All the beings that could flee, did.
All of the various shallow-earth beasts and cultures were forced into the deeper depths, forming uneasy alliances with beings that had already lived down there.
Dwarves, shallow-earth dragons, deep-underground dragons, and mantle-dwelling fire dragons, put their differences aside and worked together to build a sprawling network of underground tunnels, weaving through the depths of soil, bedrock, and the upper sections of the mantle for those who can handle the heat.
Oxygen for this network and its denizens are provided through a mutual relationship with oxygen-fixing microbes. Some of the dragons have ended up with these beings in their bodies.

Powers

Burrowing

Terrance can push dirt out of his way to burrow through the ground at relatively high speed.

This ability draws from a slowish-recharging energy pool available to him.
Softer ground (mud, sand) is easier to move, allows faster movement, and spends less energy. Harder packed ground requires more energy and slower movement.
He cannot burrow through rocks or artifical materials.

Running low on this energy will fatigue him, and he'll pass out if he runs out.

Floating

Terrance can float and "swim" a distance above ground.

He can only hover a distance equal to his current length plus one meter. Confidence, strength, and maneuverability will wane as he enters this "plus one meter" space.
Distance is measured from ground or rock level. Attempting to float over an artificial structure will count from the ground the structure is built upon.
Movement in this state requires a swimming motion.
This does not draw from his energy pool.

It's possible for him to fall if he exceeds his height limit unexpectedly.

Phasing

Terrance can briefly become incorporeal and pass through solid objects.

Extremely punishing on his internal energy pool. He can only sustain it for about 5 seconds total from fully charged.
Requires three to five seconds to charge before use.

Running low on this energy will fatigue him, and he'll pass out if he runs out.
If this runs out while he is phased into a solid object, he'll be killed. Exception, if he is phased into dirt or other substance that he is able to push aside with his "Burrowing" power, that will be invoked with the last of his power.

Size Changing

Terrance can change his physical dimensions.

Maximum length is 12 meters. Maximum diameter is one meter.
Minimum length is one meter. Minimum diameter is 12cm.
His hover height and travel speed are both proportional to his size.
This ability draws from his internal energy pool to alter his size. Larger sizes cost more energy.

Running out of energy will bring him back to his natural size as well as the existing effects of fatigue and fainting.
His instinct will naturally resist increasing size beyond what can safely fit into an area, but if this fails and he expands to a size larger than the volume of an area (e.g. ran out of energy and reverted), he'll be killed.
