Ethan is a young anthropomorphic tiger, full of energy. His fur is orange with black stripes, and white from his chin down his belly. He has a wide muzzle distinctive to big cats, full of sharp white teeth (In spite of that, he is an omnivore). His feet are digitigrade.
History
Ethan was born in Michigan. His parents both worked full time, his father a patent lawyer, his mother a surgeon in a hospital. Because of this working schedule, he spent a lot of days of his early childhood at daycares and nursery schools. It was around age 3 that strange powers of his started manifesting themselves.
These early manifestations were simple discharges of energy that his body was constantly building up. They were unrefined and sometimes painful discharges of electricity, heat, sudden gravitation waves, etc. Some quick internet searches revealed the cause right away, little Ethan was able to use magic, and these discharges were the result of him not knowing how to safely rid himself of the energy. Such build up was almost completely unheard of in someone so young though. The Locke family’s health insurers got wind of it and were contractually obligated to commission a device to keep the buildup of energy low enough for safe discharges until such a time when he was able to safely discharge on his own.
When it came time for Ethan to enter school, he had to start magic training as soon as he entered kindergarten, for his own safety and that of others. So his parents had to find a place to move that had a magic program. In the end they moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota and enrolled him in the local school that had a magic curriculum.
Ethan began kindergarten grade there, but was the only student his age in the magic program. Still, he met the other students in the program regularly. He faced some bullying from a student 2 years older than him, but the staff was always quick to crack down on these incidents. It was in early May of kindergarten, as he was getting into bed that he disappeared to Infinitas.
Homeworld
Slightly future earth, with furries making up about one third of the population. In addition, there is an extremely rare trait that allows some of them to use ‘magic’. But this is so rare, there are less than 7,000 individuals with this ability on the entire planet (less than a 1 in a million chance). In the United States, there are only 7 schools that have magical programs, and even those are just additions to the standard curriculum, averaging 14 children per program.

Ethan is able to generate, absorb, store, and release magical energy at a level that is frankly alarming for someone his age (hence why he had the magic dampening amulet made). However, being young, he has relatively little refinement. He's been taking classes the last 5 years at the magic guild, so his powers have improved
considerably since he arrived on infinitas.
